Android Outlook/Teams Error [5objn]

On newer android devices there can sometimes be an issue when the app is attempting to authenticate your account and it will display error [5objn] as seen below.

This error often occurs after device migrations, app updates, or when cached credentials conflict with the authentication flow.

The most likely solution is to clear the credentials cache that’s causing the conflict. It is recommended that you clear your device cache credentials first to ensure proper sign-in:

  1. Remove old accounts from device settings

  • Go to Settings Accounts Manage accounts.

  • Delete any duplicate or old Microsoft/Work accounts.

 

  1. Clear Teams app cache and data

  • Settings Apps Teams Storage Clear Cache & Clear Data.

 

  1. Reinstall Outlook/Teams

  • Uninstall Outlook/TeamsReboot Turn off Auto Sync DataReinstall from Play Store/App Store.

  • You can find Auto Sync Data at the bottom of the Manage accounts page.

 

  1. Sign in using the full UPN format

  • For your UWO account, login with your full email: [userID]@uwosh.edu

  • This forces a fresh authentication session.
