SharePoint Site showing 404 Not Found When Accessing Site

This will walk you through on how to resolve a 404 Not Found When Accessing SharePoint Site. This is likely due to the Home.aspx file being deleted.

Restore Deleted Home.aspx file

1. Navigate to SharePoint

2. Click on any one of your SharePoint Sites

3. Click on Site Contents Tab on the left side

   

4. In the URL Box, copy all the text in yellow below once in Site Contents:
   

   

5. Go to the SharePoint site where you get the 404 error and paste it to the end of the link after the site name
   

   

6. The page will display in the Site Contents screen. Click on Recycle Bin
   

   

7. Next to Home.aspx, tick the radio button
   

   

8. Click Restore
   

   

9. The site is restored
