For employees and students, first and last names are changed automatically based on the name provided to IT via Titan Web (PeopleSoft). Usernames are never changed automatically, only first and last names are automated due to the wide-reaching impact of a user name change. Name changes are processed by IT nightly and the changes are automatically updated in email/Outlook, Gsuite, and the online directory among others.

Preferred Name Change

Employees and students should fill out the Preferred Name Form on the Registrar's Website. After this is completed, if you would like your NetID username changed to reflect your name in use, call the Information Technology Help Desk at 920-424-3020, put in your own request at uwo.sh/service-portal, or email helpdesk@uwosh.edu. Please provide an alternate email address at which you can be reached. All communication sent to your previous email username will arrive at your new email username.

Legal Name Change

Students: Fill out the Change of Legal Name Form on the Registrar's Website. You will need to provide a copy of your driver's license or legal documentation of the name change.

Employees: Contact Human Resources. 

After this is completed, if you would like your NetID username changed to reflect your legal, call the Information Technology Help Desk at 920-424-3020, put in your own request at uwo.sh/service-portal, or email helpdesk@uwosh.edu. Please provide an alternate email address at which you can be reached. All communication sent to your previous email username will arrive at your new email username.
