Transfer a Workspace (UWO account) YouTube Channel to a Personal YouTube Channel

This will walk you through on how to move a UWO account YouTube Channel to a Personal YouTube Channel.

📘 Instructions

1. Overview

   1. You will need to create a UWO account YouTube Brand Channel

   2. You will need to move the UWO account YouTube Channel to a Brand channel

   3. Share the brand channel with the personal Google account

   4. Set primary owner of the channel to be the personal Google account

   5. Transfer the brand account to a personal channel

1. Log into your personal UWO YouTube account

2. Click on Your Channel

3. Go to settings

4. Click on Create a new channel

5. Type in Name of Brand Channel you want to create

   1. This can be named whatever you want and just a temporary Channel to transfer to your personal channel

6. Click Create Channel

7. Make sure you are in the personal UWO YouTube channel and not the brand channel

8. Click Settings

9. Click View Advanced Settings

10. Click move channel to a Brand account

11. Under the Brand Channel area, click replace

12. Click I understand

13. Click Delete channel

14. Check the box

15. Click move the channel

16. Switch the Brand channel

17. Navigate to Brand Accounts

18. Click on the Temp Brand Account

19. Click Manage Permissions

20. Click Add User

21. Type in your personal Google account

22. Select the role as Owner

23. Click Invite

24. Click Done

25. Open your personal Gmail account

26. Accept the invite

You are not able to change Primary Ownership of the Brand Account until the recently added workspace account has been a manager for 7 days. 

1. Change Temp Brand Channel ownership to UWO account

2. Move channel to personal YouTube Channel under UWO account

3. Permission the channel for others that need to manage the account
