Calendar and Email Folder Sharing and Permissions

By default, no one has any permissions to access/view your emails and they can only view free/busy for your calendar. If someone needs more permission than the default provide, you will need to grant them access. Permissions may not go into effect instantaneously, please allow time for changes to run through the system. 

Calendar Permissions

  1. Login to outlook.office.com

  2. Navigate to calendar

  3. Click on the three dots next to the calendar you want to share

  4. Choose Sharing and permissions

  5. Type the name or email address of the person who needs access

  6. Select the type of access you want that person to receive in the drop down menu

  7. Press Share

Email Folder Permissions

  1. Login to outlook.office.com

  2. Right click on the folder you want to share

  3. Choose Permissions...

  4. Press the + and enter the name or email address of the person who needs access

  5. Under Permissions grant the Permission level

  6. When the permission level has been set appropriately, press OK

When an email folder is shared, the folder will be visible in the left navigation pane with other email folders.
