Installing Universal Printers for PC and Mac
Universal Print is a printer deployment method that allows you to search for and add printers based on the department you are apart of on campus. The process does not require the assistance of IT to complete the install. You are able to install and print from any device on campus excluding Lab devices.
Windows
Press the Windows key on your kepboard or click the Windows icon on the taskbar.
Type Printers & Scanners into the search bar and select the top option.
Click Add device.
Select the Sign-In button and then use Microsoft Authenticator to authenticate.
Click on the drop down and select Work or school.
The printer available to your department should appear below. Select Add Device next to the printer you wish to install.
Once added, you should now be able to print to the recently added printer.
MacOS
Open Managed Software Center.
Search “Microsoft Universal Print” and select Install.
Once installed, locate Universal Print in your Applications folder.
Once you launch the software, you will receive a popup to Allow Unviersal Print to add a Systems Settings Pane. Select Allow.
Locate Universal Print within your System Settings. Select Sign In.
A window will pop up asking you to sign in, select Continue.
Sign in with your university email and password and approve with Microsoft Authenticator.
Once completed, select Continue when prompted about signing into the Universal Print Mac Client.
Select Add Printer…
Click search by printer location.
Select USA, check the box of the printer you would like to install, and click the Add button.
The printer will now appear for you in your list of printers and scanners. You are now able to print to the selected printer.
