Adjusting the Post Date of an Assignment in Turnitin - Canvas
Feedback/Comments left in Turnitin will not be visible to your students until the due date of the Canvas assignment has passed. If you would like your students to see your comments early you will need to adjust the "Post Date" in Turnitin. Please be aware after adjusting the "Post Date" any change to the "Due Date" in Canvas will reset the Post Date to the due date of the assignment.Â

There are two sets of directions. One for setting up your Turnitin account. If you have already done this please skip the "Setting up your Turnitin Account" and proceed to the "Adjusting the Post Date" section.
Setting up your Turnitin account
If you have set up an assignment using the Turnitin LTI then you already have an account. You just need to reset your password to access the account.
Go to https://www.turnitin.com
Choose "Login:" from the upper right
Select "Forgot Your Password"
Fill out the Email address (use your UW Oshkosh email address ) and last name dialogue boxes
Choose the "Submit" button

Check your UW Oshkosh email, you should have an email from Turnitin. If you do not immediately see the email please check your spam folder.

Click the reset password button in that email
Choose a new password
Submit button
Choose a new security question and answer combination
Submit button
Now test your new login and password combination
Adjusting the Post Date
Login to Turnitin
Go to https://www.turnitin.comÂ
Choose "Login" from the upper right
Choose the Course that houses the assignment
Choose "More Actions > Edit Settings"Â
Change the "Post Date"
Choose "Submit"
